Making Tax Digital
Making Tax Digital is a government initiative intended to make tax administration more effective. Initially, the introduction of Making Tax Digital was supposed to include all business taxes but due to the complexities involved, and concerns from professional bodies, it has, from 1st April 2019, been brought into force for VAT only, and only for businesses with an annual turnover in excess of the VAT Registration threshold which is currently £85,000. It was originally intended that Making Tax Digital would be introduced for Income Tax and Corporation Tax from 1st April 2020 but that has now been put back until at least 2021 and that could change again in the future.
VAT
VAT Return preparation and General VAT advice. For VAT periods commencing on, or after, 1st April 2019 any business with an annual turnover in excess of the £85,000 VAT Registration threshold must submit their VAT Returns digitally and can no longer type figures in boxes on the HMRC website. This involves having to use some form of software, be it spreadsheets with some bridging software, or a bespoke package, in which to maintain their records. HMRC have imposed strict requirements for record keeping which need to be applied to avoid possible penalties. We can assist with any changes that you may need to make to your record keeping and advise concerning how the VAT Returns can be submitted to HMRC.
Payroll and CIS Management
Preparation and management of weekly, and monthly, payroll including required RTI submissions to HMRC and end of year online procedures and requirements. The services also include the management of Employer Pension Scheme deductions and payments. We also prepare and make online submission of monthly CIS Returns, including individual subcontractor certificates.
